Today’s quest is a hairy predicament. When you’re done, celebrate 3 years of Adventure Snack in Table Talk. Then we’ll bus the tables at Psychic Applebee’s. Tally ho!

TODAY’S QUEST:

There's sewage spewing out of the faucet in your tub. Your landlord – the mythical beast-man known as Bigfoot – will not call, text, or even... *shudder*... FaceTime you back. Come to think of it, you haven't seen the elusive creature since you signed the lease to your "no bedroom" apartment. Bigfoot handed you the document, and when you signed it, he immediately ran off howling into the woods with your cash deposit.

It's 10:48 pm at night. Your bathtub is 25% sewage. The stench is 100% all you can smell. This is Bigfoot's responsibility, damn it. You mail him $2200 a month! He needs to get a plumber over to your place NOW.

What would you like to do?

• Search the woods for Bigfoot.

• Beg your neighbor for help.

🎉 🎉 This month marks the 3 year anniversary of Adventure Snack! I remember passing out invitations in envelopes at San Diego Comic-Con to friends I thought would enjoy the beta version. Two weeks ago, I released a beta of the first ever large(r)-scale Adventure Snack game for you to play. Based on your feedback, I’d call Use Your Psychic Powers at Applebee’s a success! Here’s what you thought…

• Overall, you rated the game 4.5 out of 5. Woo hoo!

• Over 50% of adventurers played the game 3 or more times. I was worried about replayability, but now I’m feeling more confident in the design.

• Things players enjoyed the most were the variety of story paths, the humorous writing style, and the psychic abilities.

• The main element players wanted was more control over the direction of the story. The big decision moments are too few and far between.

I’m taking your notes and running with them for the first public release. My plan is to enter the game in this year’s IFComp, the long-running competition for text adventure games. More on that in a few weeks.
