That’s a good question. I admire a lot of things about my dad, from him showing me self-reliance by example, to the dances he did when I did well in school. There was a time when I was a kid where we’d be able to sit together on a long drive and say virtually nothing. I haven’t felt comfortable doing that with anyone else. Seems weird but it almost means a connection without words. Pretty powerful.

Wonderful that you had such a strong connection with your dad. I love that. Some of my favorite memories with my dad were long drives where he played me classic rock mix tapes he made to teach me about his favorite bands.
